Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen is coming to Muskogee, marking a fresh chapter in local dining.
On December 16, 2025, city leaders and Chamber members officially broke ground at 419 E. Okmulgee Street, right next to Church’s Chicken.
This new addition is led by the same local business group already invested in the area.
Captain D’s is a beloved chain known for its affordable, family-friendly seafood like fried fish, shrimp, and classic sides.
Founded in 1969, the restaurant’s quick service and generous portions have made it a Southern favorite, and Muskogee will soon join that legacy.
The new location promises local jobs and adds variety to East Okmulgee’s food scene, helping drive economic growth.
Construction is underway, with doors expected to open by mid-2026.

The Winter Graduation Program for Muskogee Bridges brought together families and supporters at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma for an uplifting celebration of local achievement.

Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, shimmered with holiday spirit as the Fort Gibson High School Royal Regiment Band led the beloved Christmas Parade on December 6, 2025.
After capturing the OBA Class 4A State Marching Championship, the band enchanted the crowd with their dynamic showcase, "Streets Come Alive," uniting the town through the universal language of music.
Directed by Diania Hopkins, their performance stood out among over 40 parade participants, from local Jeep clubs strung with lights to a lively appearance by the Oktaha High School Band.
Amanda Smith, Deputy Town Administrator, praised the parade for building holiday joy and community pride.
The Royal Regiment’s spirited melodies resonated with families along Broadway, highlighting Fort Gibson’s rich musical tradition.
