Muskogee County is gearing up for a major road upgrade as work on 3 Rivers Road begins this fall.
Set to start in mid to late September, the $10.2 million reconstruction will turn a rough stretch between Fort Gibson and Okay into a much safer and more reliable route for the community.
This project is a key part of ongoing efforts to enhance transportation throughout the area.
Recent years have brought major improvements, including over 45 road and bridge projects completed by the Cherokee Nation in 2023 and nearly $930 million in statewide investments approved by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for coming years, with several projects planned locally.
These upgrades reinforce a strong commitment to improved safety and travel across Muskogee County.
