Notably, area cross-country teams, including Connors State College, and local high school teams from Warner, Webber, Oktaha , Porter and Hilldale Cross Country ran over 20 miles to participate, demonstrating their dedication to the cause.
Adding to the event's emotional resonance, performances by Tammy Swon and Jermaine Mondaine captivated attendees, reinforcing the day's message through music.
Local law enforcement leaders also participated, with Deputy Chief Reggie Cotton of the Muskogee Police Department and Muskogee County Sheriff Andy Simmons attending. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort between first responders and the community in addressing domestic violence.
Community members, students, and leaders walked together, some even wearing high heels, to symbolize their support for survivors. This collective effort serves as a poignant reminder that combating violence against women and children requires the involvement of the entire community.
