Major Infrastructure Overhaul Set to Enhance Connectivity in Muskogee County |
From: County Commissioner Ken Doke via Facebook
Starting in mid to late September, construction crews will begin the much-anticipated reconstruction of 3 Rivers Road, the crucial link between Fort Gibson and Okay.
This $10.2 million initiative aims to transform the previously rugged country road into a safer, more robust, and dependable route for local residents.
The project is part of a broader effort to enhance transportation infrastructure in the region.
In recent years, Muskogee County has seen a surge in infrastructure improvements.
For instance, the Cherokee Nation completed over 45 road and bridge projects in 2023, investing more than $20 million to repair and replace critical transportation links.
Additionally, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation approved nearly $930 million in road and bridge improvements across the state for the fiscal years 2026 to 2030, with several projects slated for Muskogee County.
These developments underscore a commitment to bolstering the region's infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for all.
Residents can look forward to the completion of the 3 Rivers Road project, which promises to significantly improve daily commutes and support local economic growth. |
