$1 a month may not seem like much. But to me, it means someone wants me to keep showing up, camera in hand, telling our community’s stories.

If you’ve enjoyed a community photo album, found something to do through the calendar, or followed a local business update, you’ve seen part of what I’m working to build through Three Forks Media and Muskogee Community Buzz.

My name is Kelvin Brown, and my mission is simple: share the good news and keep our community’s stories visible.

For more than 16 years, I’ve photographed and documented the people, places, businesses, and gatherings that make this area home.

Now I’m asking readers who value that work to help support it.

There’s more behind every picture and post

Covering an event starts before the first photograph and continues after I get home.

There’s the trip there, the time spent finding the moments worth capturing, and the editing, organizing, writing, and sharing that follow.

Sometimes the story is a celebration or ribbon cutting.

Other times, it means returning to a construction site to photograph what has changed and give readers an update on a business taking shape.

I also maintain a local calendar of events so neighbors can discover what’s happening and make plans to take part.

Finding event information, checking details, and keeping listings current all take time.

Whether I’m behind the camera or working at the computer, the purpose is the same: help people connect with their community.

What your support helps pay for

There are everyday costs behind this coverage: transportation, fuel, vehicle upkeep, and insurance.

There are also cameras, computers, software, and the cost of purchasing, upgrading, or replacing equipment when it’s needed.

Long-term storage matters, too.

The photos and videos I’ve documented need to remain organized and preserved so those community memories have a place to live beyond the day they were posted.

Your contribution helps support the work that readers see and the work behind the scenes that makes it possible.

A personal need behind this request

Right now, my main camera isn’t reliable when I use flash. I need a replacement, but I can’t afford one at the moment.

That’s hard to say when documenting our community means so much to me. I want to keep showing up and capturing the moments you enjoy seeing.

If you’ve ever told me, “I like what you do,” or “Keep those pictures coming,” please consider backing that encouragement with whatever support fits your budget. Even $1 a month would mean a lot to me.

Together, those contributions could help me replace this camera. Steady support would also help me plan for future equipment needs before they become an urgent problem.

Thank you for helping me keep our community in focus.

A small amount can make a meaningful difference

$1 a month may not seem like much, but if you like what I do, your support would mean the world to me.

My support page offers $1, $2, and $5 monthly options, along with a one-time contribution where you choose your own amount.

Any amount helps.

Recurring support is especially useful because knowing what I can count on each month makes it easier to plan future coverage and decide when I can invest in equipment.

It gives me a clearer picture of the resources available as I keep building these community services.

Encouragement matters—and practical support does, too

I’m grateful every time someone says, “I appreciate what you do.”

I love that acknowledgment, and it helps keep me encouraged.

But a pat on the back alone can’t fuel the car or keep the cameras rolling.

If you have the ability to contribute, you’ll help me keep showing up for the people and moments that deserve to be seen.

If contributing isn’t possible, sharing the newsletter, a story, or a photo album helps others discover the work.
